About Ray FCU

Brief History of Ray Federal Credit Union

Established in 1955, Ray Federal Credit Union has a proud heritage of serving miners and mining contractors of Ray, Arizona in the greater Copper Basin and neighboring communities. The mining towns of Ray, Sonora, and Barcelona have all since been closed and the area mined for copper. In 1965 the credit union built a building in Kearny, AZ where we’ve headquartered to serve our members ever since.

Ray Federal Credit Union is a non profit institution, where the members are the credit union's owners. The Board of Directors is elected each year by the members of the credit union and has the general direction and control of the affairs of this credit union. The board is responsible for performing all the governance duties customarily performed by boards of directors through policy and professional staff including but not limited to: (a) Directing the affairs of the credit union in accordance with our charter, bylaws, regulations and sound business practices. (b) Establishing programs to achieve the purposes of this credit union.

We seek to be the financial services provider of choice for our member/owners in the Copper Basin Region by delivering a service experience that exceeds expectations, enhances their quality of life, and promotes economic development of our community.

Like other federally chartered credit unions, our member's shares are insured up to $250,000.00 by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration), an agency of the federal government.
